Kleenex Disposal Hand Towels

The new disposable hand towels made by Kleenex, are now in stores. Kleenex had "cleanliness" in mind when they thought of these new hand towels. I also read that they are supposed to impress your guests that use your bathroom, but I don't know why, because I wouldn't be impressed by that. But they are not new. If you think about it, there are a lot of public restrooms that use paper towels. All Kleenex did, was make a large tissue, make it thicker, and called it a "Hand Towel". There are a lot of negative impacts on the environment due to these new hand towels. They are "thicker" and "softer", which means that they will be using more trees, and more forest land, just for your convinience. They are about as thick as 7 regular paper towels, but are much softer. They can be used in your kitchen, bathroom, or even garage. They come in three main colors; tan, green, and silver to match your decore in your home, and a box cost about $2.99, and consists of 60 disposable hand towels. Or you can buy in bulk, which costs about $30. These towels are a waste of natural rescources, and a waste of money, and I personally would never buy these because you really can't recycle them, and they are terrible for the enviroment.

  1. I agree with Shane that this is possibly one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of. If you want a hand towel, go buy a cloth one and wash it occasionally. Do we buy paper clothes to "impress our friends" and make it ten times thicker than normal clothing? Um, no. Paper towels already create enough waste, hence the invention of the air dryer to conserve of paper waste, why would we buy thicker paper towels that just use even more paper? Kleenex, you've done a wonderful job with tissues, but please, don't try anything else.

  2. Okay, I must start off with saying this is the most ridiculous things ever. It's embarrassing that we have become so lazy and uncaring to our environment that we are using a disposable hand towel. I cannot think of one valid or GOOD reason to ever buy one of these!! Like you said, they was our precious resources like our forests, which 90% of the U.S. forests' alone have been cut down, and wasted into making a hand towel that is thrown away! You can't even wash it and reuse it! It's a pointless piece of thick cloth that is wasting our time in making and our money in buying. Why can't the money being used to develop this absurd cloth be used in helping our environment become clean again? Or helping develop products that are eco-friendly? I'm pretty sure if I ever had friends or family that bought this product, I would throw them away, its just crazy.

  3. It seems the three of us need to have a word with Kleenex about their ideas. Honestly, if three high school students can see the issue with this, why can't the rest of the world? I've heard from someone at Wal-Mart not only do they sell these, but people are ignorantly buying them without questioning its possible environmental impact. Perhaps we need to make our own commercials explaining the complete absurdity of this product and remind people we need trees. For every pro-disposable hand towel commercial, someone should make an anti-one.

  4. Make the four high school students! I totally agree this idea is idiotic and lazy. I cannot believe that the human race has become so lazy that we cant even was cloth hand towels any more instead we have to through away multiples of some material that could be used for some other USEFUL product. I actually am ashamed of anyone who buys this product better yet I think the people who developed the product should be hit with their own stupidity and given a ticket for the acessory to a crime against the environment. I mean really people its not that hard to do a load a laundry and fold it. Like Hayden said Kleenex sitck to tissues.
