Today, December 8th, was the first time a private company launched a spaceship into space and then safely returned to space after orbit, a feat only accomplished by national governments. The rocket landed right on target somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. This shows that companies can now start transporting people back in forth to space rather easily. Ships that can support humans will go into production, so expect to start seeing more humans in space in the following years. One great leap for mankind? I think, yes.
I wonder what the cost on this will be and how often it will be used. I don't know if this is a good idea, sure it's awesome that companies can do something like this but let's hope it doesn't interfere with security or something of the sort.
ReplyDeleteThat's really interesting, but I don't know how I really feel about it...it seems like now people will just want to go inhabit space. Well, okay, that's a little extreme but still...The cost would still be extremely high, and honestly, what good comes out of it? If we are able to fly into space like this in the near future, and we have the advanced technology for it, you would think that scientists would be able to do things to help the environment more like some crazy device that removes CO2 from the atmosphere or something...
ReplyDeleteIt is another greap leap for mankind though...
i think this is a huge advancement in human technology, the fact that we might oneday be making round trips into to space is crazy. although in the back of my mind it reminds me of Wal-E haha that we might use this as a reason to litter since we can just go to space if we run out of Earth.
ReplyDeleteThey really dont go into orbit they just skim along the edge of the atomsphere. Civilian technology is not quite advanced enough and there are FFA restrictions that keep people from actually going into space. It would be fun to take a ride on one of these planes that are launched off the back of a 747 at 30,000 ft... If you want to pay for the bill.
