Rising Sea Levels Seen as Threat to Coastal U.S.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/14/science/earth/study-rising-sea-levels-a-risk-to-coastal-states.html?_r=1&ref=earth

In the article they talk about  how coastal flooding is caused by global warming. They believe that Florida has the highest risk of coastal flooding due to the low lying lime stones that make up most of the area. So an organization called the Climate  Central conduct analysis and studies to know when the sea- levels are rising and ways to get the communities aware and find new ideas on how to prevent global warming. Studies have shown that over the next 40 years, the ocean could rise over a foot. This could lead to large incursions by the ocean onto shallow coastlines and could flood the areas, so Climate Central is working on how to find new ideas to fix global warming

  1. Fixing global warming would be a good idea. It poses a threat to the world, and should be controlled. Everyday that we don't take action, it gets worse and worse. I think Climate Central is doing a great thing for the environment, the world, and all of humanity by trying to control the rising sea levels and measure how much they've risen.

  2. I agree with Anthony. We should fix global warming. do to thwe threat thart is there we should keep an eye on it and control it. It gets worse as thwe days go by and will eventually turn in to something big if we are not careful. Climate Central is being very productive in this area helping the environment and the world.

  3. If this threat is very real and imminent, then we should definitely back up the agency responsible for the prevention of this certain issue. Many peoples homes are set up in Florida to be as close to the shore as possible. The ocean rising just 6 inches, only half of the projected rise, could destroy alot of property in the affected areas. However, if this threat is not real, we should invest our money elsewhere.
