The Green Dream :)

www.popsci.com/enviroment/article/2010-06/green-dream-conserves-water-using-shower-and-sink-runoff-runs-toilets

A modern House in New York has found a way to save 110 gallons a day. Their system uses run off water to flush the toilets again. The run off comes from showers, toilets, and washing clothes. The run off water goes through a chlorination filter into a holding tank. You have to make sure the chlorine levels are correct. If you have too little there can be too much bacteria in the water. If you leave too much chlorine it will kill bacterias that the septic system needs. These are good ideas. This is an easy way to save money and save the enviroment. I have said that these little changes will make a big impact on the enviroment and our lives.

  1. I think this is a good idea and hopefully they will share their ideas with other people and many more people will start to do this and we will save so much more water that way! It is a good idea and hopefully it won't be too hard to put into affect in other places, that's if people are willing to take the time and effort.

  2. This is cheaper than traditional plumbing. The idea just needs to catch on. I think that the more people that start doing this the less expensive installation will be. I think that everyine is kind of oblivious to how much watwe we use in one day.

  3. This is a wonderful idea but i think people, especially Americans, will be grossed out about reusing already used water. Also, installation for this is more expensive than a standard system which will turn people away.

  4. I agree with Katie that people don't really realize how much water we use everyday and how vaulable this idea could be to conserving it.

  5. And I agree with Kelly that Americans would not be very open to the idea because the water could be dirty.. and we don't like reused dirty water.

  6. I agree with Kelly, in that we are going to be less likely to support this. However places in the UK for example i could see doing this, and it seems like a super good idea. However, if there was a cheaper way of installing it i think tons of people would be interested; but since many people don't look past the initial cost it would be a hard concept to catch on.

  7. Yes i agree with this also, the only promblem would be following through on it and makng sure everyone does this. After what it cost to make it, it would end up saving the enviroment.
