Hand dryers or paper towels? It has been a dilemma for quite some time and it most likely will continue for a good while. Paper towels kill trees and are not typically recycled. Hand dryers use electricity and are pricy to produce. So how can this be solved? Well we could use recycled paper towels or we could use energy efficient hand dryers. With recycled paper towels however, the paper towels themselves are not recycled but instead end up in the trash after a single use. Energy efficient hand dryers seem like the preferred choice in most cases. In my opinion, I support the energy efficient hand dryers because in the long run they last longer and prevent all the garbage and tree loss from paper towels.
I am also in favor of electric hand dryers the only frustration i have is that i feel like in general hand dryers don't dry your hands as well as paper towels; with the exception of high power hand dryers. Which raises my only question are high power dryers still simi-energy efficient?
ReplyDeleteAmericans especially also tend to use a lot more paper towels than are really necessary to dry their hands so i agree with you that hand dryers are the better choice
ReplyDeleteHand dyers are, people grab so many paper towels not even thinking about how it affects the enviroment. If there was a way to preven that so they wouldnt have a choice it would be so much better.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a really good article. I do agree with you that hand dryers would be a better choice though. Paper towels still use alot of energy to create and to recycle after being used. Hand dryers seem like they use less.
ReplyDeletewhy not offer both? give the user the responsibility to decide whether to kill a tree or not. i know most people would choose the paper towel but i feel like it should be there choice
