Lack of Bees

Over 50 percent of hives have been wiped out since last year. Bees have been dying mysteriously and their impact on farmers and bee keepers have been nothing but good. Scientist have been studying if it's pesticides that are killing off the bees. Some researchers say that neonicotinoids(pesticide) could be the reason. Many farmers believed the bees were doing so well and were healthy last spring until fall came and many started dying drastically.Following a now-familiar pattern, bee deaths rose swiftly last autumn and dwindled as operators moved colonies to faraway farms for the pollination season. Beekeepers say the latest string of deaths has dealt them a heavy blow. Bees may not be the friendlies of insects, but they are the most important. They help pollinate our fruits and vegetables which is a majority of the American Diet. Fewer bees mean higher food prices. I think if people choose to use pesticides there should be a limit on how much chemicals can be in it. Not only is it a pro to having a weed-less yard, but it is a con because it can be harmful to humans.

  1. Did you know that honey from bees is basically bee vomit? I'll still eat it though but if the bees keep disappearing there will be no more honey and that's sad.
