Experts: Global Warming Means More Antartic Ice

While the North Pole has been losing sea ice over the years, the water nearest the South Pole has been gaining it. Antarctic sea ice hit a record 7.51 million square miles in September. Shifts in wind patterns and the giant ozone hole over the Antarctic this time of year — both related to human activity — are probably behind the increase in ice. Solutions to stop global warming are don't drive or drive less. Another is use renewable resources, not using fossil fuel electricity, managing forest and agriculture, and ensuring sustainable developement. Global warming is a serious issue we need to aware of and try to prevent it. The best solution can be drive less and use renewable resources. A barrier to the solution is people may not care or just choose not to do anything about it. http://news.yahoo.com/experts-global-warming-means-more-antarctic-ice-194009890.html

  1. That's so weird that the Antarctic gained more ice while everywhere else it is melting. I agree with your solutions though.

  2. I agree global warming is a very serious issue. I think if people knew more about global warming and the effects it could have on us and the Earth, people would be a lot more conscious. Driving cars and the gasoline we fill it with are very harmful to the atmosphere. It would be a little hard for people to just stop driving. Maybe if we found a different resource that would be more eco friendly it would be less harmful. Also, I do agree that using renewable resources would help. I just really think the government should make its citizens more aware of what is going on with global warming.

  3. Convincing people to drivless is going to be tough. Especially out here in clover where if we want to walk somewhere it will take an hour or more. All i can think of is more envromentaly friendly cars like hybrids and stuff like that.
