Obama Grants EPA More Power

Throughout the past few weeks President Obama has been meeting with his advisors and plans to give the Enviormental Protection Agency more power over wetland protection. Not only does this mean more "enviorment" is protected from this decision but the economy will be helped to. The production of equipment used to protect these wetlands will call a need for many more jobs and with the more protected wetlands the more national parks or state parks can be created, in turn brining even more jobs.

Today about one hundred seventeen million United States citizens, more than a third of the population get part or all of their drinking water from sources that lack clear protection from pollution. I personally think if that many people are at risk of getting polluted water then the EPA should get much more power over the wetlands. I agree with whats happening completely.

  1. I love this! My dream plans for the future is to study environmental science in college and eventually get some sort of job cleaning up our water, espically Lake Wylie. I am glad that this is happening now but it should have been done a lot sooner. This is a big step in the right direction for helping our entire environment.

  2. Regardless of how many jobs are created, it is unconstitutional for the government to take a role in this. The government has a bad habit of overstepping its bounds.

  3. I feel that this is really good! Protecting our environment and creating new jobs is extremely important. I see no problem in giving the EPA more power if its to protect more wetlands and boosts the economy. This is a really good move.

  4. I completely agree with Ben. Especially now, protecting our environment is essential in protecting ourselves as well. Nobody wants to be drinking polluted water. Creating jobs is always a good thing, especially when everyone is benefiting, but who will be paying for these jobs?

  5. It's nice to see that something like this is of concern. Clean water is not always as easy to come by as it should be. So I think it's a good thing that we are planning on doing more to gauruntee that. And if it helps boost the economy then of course it is a good thing.
