Google Maps To The Next Level

Google is a well known website for what it's capable of. It is prominent for its web mapping services and has brought Google Maps to another degree. Now on Google Maps you can view a stunning, panoramic view of Mt. Everest. The maps now include 360-degree views of four of the seven summits, the highest peaks on all seven continents. The Google Maps team spent 12 days, hiked more than 70 miles (113 kilometers) and reached an altitude of 18,192 feet at the Everest base camp. On this hike, they faced earthquakes, flash floods and
mudslides.

That's a pretty big deal. Most people attempt at hiking up this mountain but little actually make it up there. To have good quality mapping service for this spot has made an impact for other website competitors. This is a success for the company and very useful for everyone who uses Google.

  1. Pretty impressive that they are willing to risk their lives on these slopes just for a more detailed digital view. Pretty awesome!

  3. Well as glad as I am to use google maps when I drive I feel like I would enjoy climbing the mountain myself rather than viewing it digitally.

  4. Google is showing the other mapping services how to make the maps the right way and leading the way in mapping services.

  5. I personally think that this is useless, I am better off watching an HD video or looking at a picture elsewhere, why would I go to google maps for that?
