The Cree energy efficient light bulb

This article states that a North Carolina based company named Cree, has invented a new light bulb that is more energy efficient than original light bulbs, but also has the normal dome shaped like original bulbs instead of the spiral shape like CFL light bulbs. This product is around $10, which helps people with tight budgets still be able to try it out. It is equal with other LEDs on the market and 84 percent more efficient than regular bulbs. Its expected life time is around 25,000 hours. I think that this is a great solution to energy waste and keeps the normal look of a light bulb.

  1. These light bulbs are so fascinating to me. It is such a neat alteration to a simple, everyday device that will help conserve energy. I think that these lights will become more popular because they don’t look as stupid as the CFL’s. I like the way these look like the originals so now no one will call you a hippie for using “Fruity Lights” to light your house. I hope to get one of these for my room soon, but I still think ten dollars per light bulb is a little bit expensive. But I don’t buy my light bulbs so that might be a good price for this light bulb.
