Recycled Paper Cleans Up Oil?

Paper Mill Sludge? Ring a bell?  No? Well it’s a really good green solution to cleaning up oil or chemical spills. The recycled paper that Slovenian scientist use to clean up oil is made from a byproduct of recycled paper. That paper is usually treated as waste, but for this it‘s really important to stay as green as you can. The recycled paper absorbs more than 99 percent of spilled oil from the water surface. I think cleaning up oil spills this way is more efficient than having machinery and a lot of man power to clean up tough spills. You’re reusing recycled paper and taking recycling to the next step.

  1. It is great they have found a green way to clean up oil spills instead of using heavy machinery that is not good for the environment.

  5. Since we started drilling for oil we have had the problem of oil spills. The hard part about it clean up is we don’t really have anything to clean it completely until now if it stands the test, which could help reduce the effects on ecosystems
