Butterflies in the UK are in Danger!

Studies have shown that butterfly populations in the UK are dropping. Scientists are accrediting this to some severe droughts in the last couple decades. They also expect the amount of droughts to increase as the world’s climate continues to change. But there is a more immanent problem, habitat loss. For example, the Ringlet Butterfly has experienced a decline in populations since the 90s, with only a slight increase in 1995-1996. Scientists are worried about what this means for the rest of the butterfly species and for insects in general. Habitat needs to be conserved; the UK is just an island after all.
