Knights Statium: Charlotte Eco-Friendly?

Charlotte is currently ranked as the 14th most eco-friendly city in the United States.  With over 25 parks in the central area, this has helped the city gain its rank on the charts.  When you walk into the uptown city area, you’ll notice the quietness of this rather large growing city.  The streets are clean and the buildings are all very well maintained.  There are a large variety of restaurants and in the past years many art museums have been built including the Knight Theater.  Recently one of the main committees in charlotte have decided to relocate the Charlotte Knight’s baseball stadium from where it is now in Fort Mill to the South city side area next to the Panthers Stadium.  Currently a large, open area filled with concrete, parking lots, and unused roads is being torn down to make room for the new and improved Knight’s stadium and one of Charlotte’s largest parks and eco-friendly areas will be put in place outside of it. I think building the stadium here was a very good solution to the unused area in the city.  Before it looks rundown and with much improvement in progress it’ll be an attraction and space that’ll raise Charlotte on the environmental scale.  I’m very glad that they are building it uptown because it will make the city look better and will also be a convenience for the fans.  I predict that more people will attend the games than when the stadium was in Fort Mill.  Overall my opinion is that building a new place like this is exactly what Charlotte needed and that I hope it continues to stay high in doing what right for the environment.

  1. I had no idea they were moving the Knights stadium! It sounds like a great idea to move it to an unused area in Charlotte. On top of that, adding eco-friendly areas around it is an even greater idea. It looks like it will be very beneifical to the environment and the city.
