There is no doubt about it that the world loves pandas. But they're one of the most threatened species on the planet. In fact, there are fewer than 1,600 left in the wild. But today, there's hope. Conservation International, with the participation of some exceptional partners and leading panda scientists, is launching a comprehensive plan for panda conservation.CI’s goal is nothing less than to put an end to the decline of the panda population, protect and revive the forests where they live, create mechanisms for local communities to support and benefit from conservation activities, and promote new policies by the Chinese government that provide better regulation of development and incentives for local protection. If all these ideas were put into effect we could save the Panda, and instead of the Panda being extinct we can enjoy it for many years to come. Dr. Lu Zhi also protects the Panda's and he says that Panda's represent all endangered species and if we cant save the panda's, how are we going to be successful in saving other endangered species?

The Chinese also needs to allow more facilities outside of their country to take pandas and assist in breeding and conserving them. I think they're much too strict about that.
