Guatemala's Hunger and growing demands of Biofuels

Due to the increase the United states has put up to 40 percent of It’s corn crop towards Biofuels, thus increasing the tax on corn. Guatemala depends on corn exports for their food.  In Guatemala the average family is getting hungrier since they spend three fourths of their income on food. Sugar cane companies in Guatemala have been profiting from this and have put the poor farmers in no position to fight back. The World Bank suggested that developed nations should be adjusted when the food is short or high priced. In my opinion I think we need to cut the amount of Biofuels we use because it attributes to world hunger, but unfortunately we rely too heavily on Biofuels so resistance to this is strong among businesses that require Biofuels for their product.
