The average area covered by the Antarctic ozone hole this year was the second smallest in the last 20 years, according to data from NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellites. The problem in this situation would be that without a large enough atmospheric ozone in the stratosphere, humans are susceptible to skin cancer caused by exposure to ultraviolet light. In the passage, however, the solution is merely humanity riding it out for now because atmospheric ozone is no longer declining because concentrations of ozone-depleting chemicals stopped increasing and are now declining. My opinion on this matter is that I have always remembered the issues regarding the depleting of the ozone layer was always an important issue ever since I was a a child, and to read that ozone is no longer "depleting" and eventually we will arrive to a safe point is very comforting.
