Lake Agassiz disgorges its secrets

http://www.earthtimes.org/climate/agassiz-disgorges-secrets/1480/

There was at one time a massive lake the covered Northern Minnesoda, Western Ontario, and North Dakota. It was there in ancient times, and now all thats left is small lakes, for example; Lake winnipeg, Lake Winnipegosis, Lake Manitoba, and Lake of the Woods. It had always been a mystery how the lake had disappeared. Scientist have discovered through research that the climate had to do with its disappearance. It was an abrupt climate change in which the climate cooled down within a 30 year period. Evaporation and drainage occurred durring this time. The period was known as the Younger Dryas cold period. This was a period where there were significantly more dry and sunny days due to increased solar radiation. These studys may help in the future to determine what happened to the entire North American climate during this time period, as well as the rest of the world.
